"Open" - Championship

For the Most Die-Hard Participants!

The cream of the crop, however, is found in the "Open" category, where the battle is waged for every hundredth of a second to the razor's edge.

Snow, rain, ice, or dry weather, no weather condition is too challenging for these top-notch competitors!

For this category, you need to be an experienced racer with competition experience.

For participants ready for a serious challenge, our "Open" formula offers the ultimate competition at FKI-Racing.

Here, it's all about speed, tactics, and learning from the best participants.

Our Competition Karts

For our club races, we use a fully separate competition fleet from Sodi: the SR5.

These karts are used exclusively for higher-level driving on Wednesday evenings at FKI-Racing and for advanced events.

Thanks to this exclusivity, they remain in excellent technical condition.

Our competition fleet was completely renewed in November 2025 and is replaced every two years, ensuring that the equipment is always recent and performing at a high level.

The karts are also equipped with a system that allows up to 30 kg of additional ballast to be safely placed in the side pods. These extra weights are provided by us, so every driver can correctly bring their weight up to the required minimum of 85 kg.

Our Sodi SR5 competition fleet gives every driver the chance to get the best out of themselves and to compete on truly equal terms.

Who can participate?

Welcome class

For drivers with enough karting experience to drive safely, smoothly and predictably in a group.
Race experience is not required, but you must be able to maintain a stable pace, know the flags and safety rules, and know how to safely let a faster driver or a faster group pass.

Open class

For drivers with racing or competition experience.
You must be comfortable with close racing, able to anticipate situations, and able to keep up with a fast group of drivers.

General conditions

You must know and understand the flags.
You must be able to drive predictably and safely.
Dangerous, obstructive or reckless driving will be acted upon immediately.
Age is not the deciding factor: you mainly need to be tall enough to drive the adult kart and to have enough experience to participate safely.

Safety on and off the track

Flag knowledge is mandatory
Every driver must know all flags and react to them correctly.

Predictable driving
Drive smoothly, stay in control, and avoid sudden or unclear manoeuvres.

Respect for faster drivers
Allow faster drivers or faster groups to pass in time and safely.

Respectful behaviour is essential
Hand gestures or verbal reactions towards marshals or other drivers are not tolerated.
Supporters who misbehave towards other drivers will also be addressed; the driver remains responsible for their supporters.

Immediate action in case of danger
Dangerous, obstructive or reckless driving will be acted upon immediately.

Respect for equipment and fellow drivers
We drive hard, but fair; respect is always central.
